Day 1

When you arrive in Lima we’ll be waiting to accompany you to your accommodation, located in the heart of Miraflores.

Day 2

Get ready for the ultimate adventure, a culinary journey and city exploration that encapsulates the very essence of Peru’s vibrant capital. Enjoy an immersive experience that blends trendy neighborhoods, iconic landmarks, and interactive activities, promising a day filled with unforgettable moments. You’ll embark on a gastronomic odyssey with five stops across three distinct districts, each offering a unique flavor of Lima’s culinary landscape. Begin with organic Peruvian coffee, indulge in tantalizing fruit at a bustling traditional market, and quench your thirst with Peru’s signature pisco sour. Dive into a hands-on cooking class led by a seasoned chef, mastering the art of our beloved ceviche and sipping on expertly crafted cocktails. Finish your tour against the backdrop of ancient ruins at the historic Huaca Pucllana, where culinary excellence meets rich cultural heritage.
 
In the afternoon step back in time with a captivating journey through the heart of Lima’s historic center, where history comes to life amidst a backdrop of architectural splendor. Marvel at the grandeur of the Presidential Palace, standing proudly alongside the Archbishop’s Palace and the majestic Cathedral of Lima, adorned with exquisite chapels that whisper tales of bygone eras. Venture to the nearby San Francisco Monastery, a bastion of colonial architecture that hides a macabre secret beneath its hallowed halls, where eerie catacombs house the remains of over 25 thousand former inhabitants of Lima in eternal repose.
 
Continue onwards to Casa Aliaga, a true testament to Lima’s enduring legacy. Step inside the hallowed halls of this venerable mansion, the oldest in the city, still proudly owned by the Aliaga family after over four centuries.

Day 3

This morning you return to the airport to take your flight to Iquitos, a city only accessible by air and water, and gateway to the northern Amazon of Peru. The Delfin team will be waiting for you, and after a drive in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, you will come to Nauta, where the Delfin awaits your presence. Step aboard and immerse yourself in a world of luxury and comfort. Take in the panoramic views as your naturalist guide regales with tales of the journey ahead. Meandering the Marañon River, keep your eyes pealed for birds and mischievous monkeys amidst the verdant rainforest. As the sun sets, prepare to be enchanted by the spectacle of a kaleidoscope of hues across the horizon.

Day 4

Prepare yourself for an extraordinary adventure unlike any other, an unparalleled experience amidst the lush green canopy. Ascend to heights of over 25 meters (85 feet) as you traverse a thrilling 500-meter pathway suspended above the forest floor. The route spans between 14 majestic rainforest giants and stands as one of the world’s longest and most breathtaking aerial walkways.
 
You will then meet a revered spiritual guardian and healer, whose influence transcends cultural boundaries. Carola is renowned as a “white” shaman, revered for her healing touch and spiritual guidance, embodying the diverse spectrum of practices within her profession.
 
As your journey continues, cruise along the Yanayacu and Pucate Rivers, venturing into hidden creeks and serene lagoons within the the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. For those seeking a more immersive experience, take to the waters of the Amazon aboard kayaks or paddle boards, and perhaps even try your hand at fishing the infamous piranhas!
 
As night falls and the forest comes alive with nocturnal activity, head out on a mesmerizing skiff ride, delving into the mysteries of the jungle under the veil of darkness.

Day 5

This morning take a stroll along the Fundo Casual jungle trail, venturing deep into the heart of the rainforest. Keep your senses sharp with the dynamic array of creatures and flora that call the Amazon home. From the majestic anaconda and vibrant rainbow boa to elusive tarantulas and enchanting poison frogs, each encounter is a testament to the astonishing biodiversity of this unique ecosystem. And keep your eyes peeled for the 2-toed sloth – a rare gem hidden among the foliage of the reserve.
 
Taking the skiffs, immerse yourself in the culture of the Amazonian communities that have flourished here for generations. Warm smiles and open arms await, offering a glimpse into the rich tapestry of life here, where the laughter-filled schoolhouse and the arts and crafts market will leave an indelible mark on your journey.
 
Back on the boat, we will arrive at the iconic “Unión de los Ríos”, a spectacle where three majestic rivers converge in a harmonious dance of nature’s grandeur. Here, amidst the waters, we raise our glasses in a toast to the union of the Ucayali and Marañón to form the mighty Amazon River.

Day 6

As your Amazonian adventure draws to a close, the boat arrives back to the port of Nauta, and we begin our journey back to Iquitos, a mere 95 kilometers away by road. En route, we make a poignant stop at the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals, also known as Amazon Forever. You’ll have the opportunity to meet adorable baby manatees and delve into their world, learning about their behaviors and the ongoing efforts to protect their future. The center also provides sanctuary to a host of other animals rescued from various threats including the pet trade.
 
Delfin staff will assist with check-in for your flight, as you return to the capital before continuing to Cusco, where our host will be waiting to accompany to your hotel.

Day 7

Today we take an unforgettable trip through the Sacred Valley, a journey that promises to immerse you in the history, culture, and natural beauty that defines this enchanting region. Your adventure begins with a visit to the Pisac ruins, where temples, agricultural terraces, and ceremonial sites share the breathtaking vistas of the Sacred Valleys, a panorama that will leave you spellbound.
 
Continue your exploration at the vibrant market in the town below, a bustling hub of color and culture renowned for its exquisite handicrafts, textiles, and Andean treasures. Lose yourself amidst the lively stalls, engaging with local artisans and indulging in the delights of Peruvian craftsmanship.
 
After treating your taste buds to a mouthwatering lunch, continue to the charming Ollantaytambo, where imposing stone terraces adorn an ancient fortress and temple complex.

Day 8

Time to get our hands dirty, immersing ourselves in a local community and engaging in the local way of life. You’ll take in the daily lives of the residents with an authentic cultural experience. Depending on the season, you might join in with agricultural activities, planting crops, harvesting, or tending to the fields. Or perhaps explore animal husbandry practices, feeding livestock and learning other aspects of care of farm animals. Don’t forget to drop in at the school and meet the kids, proudly showing off their drawings newly learned skills! we’ll head to the studio of a skilled artisan, receiving a warm welcome as you begin an introduction to the world of ceramic pottery. You’ll learn about the different techniques, tools, and styles used in traditional Peruvian pottery, along with the natural products used to make colors and dyes. Create your own masterpiece under the guidance of your master ceramist, applying intricate designs to your piece.

Day 9

This morning we head to Ollantaytambo, to take a scenic train ride from the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes at the foot of Machu Picchu. Enjoy the scenery as the train follows the Vilcanota River into lush cloud-forest. After a bus ride up to the entrance of Machu Picchu, enjoy a buffet lunch at the nearby Sanctuary Lodge before entering the citadel. You’ll wind up a gentle path before taking your first views of the breathtaking site. Your guide will share with you the history and significance of the sites within, from the Intihuatana – “hitching post of the sun” – to the Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Three Windows, and Temple of the Condor. Take in a beautiful sunset at our World Wonder before returning to Aguas Calientes for a well-earned dinner and rest.

Day 10

Rise early and return to the sacred site with your knowledgeable guide, ready to brief you more about the ancient ruins and their place in Peruvian – and world – myths and folklore. Absorb the magical energy as you gain insights into the Inca civilization and architectural marvels as you explore them. For a spot of adventure, take one of the limited-entry hikes to reach the higher vantage points for breathtaking panoramic views of the citadel. Finally, descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch before relaxing on the train in your return to Cusco.

Day 11

Cusco, the heart of the Incan Empire and historical capital of Peru. Spend the morning wandering quaint cobblestone streets, taking in the astonishing blend of history and culture, from the ancient temple of Q’orikancha and the Cathedral in the main plaza with its Cusquenian take on the Last Supper painting, to the colorful San Pedro central market and the bohemian arts of San Blas. In the afternoon venture to the hills above to explore the magnificent fortress of Sacsayhuaman and nearby ruins, learning their architectural and strategical significance with your guide.

Day 12

After a relaxing start, you’ll take a late-morning flight back to the capital, Lima. In the afternoon you’ll explore the bohemian district of Barranco, characterized by its artistic vibe, colorful murals and charming ambience. Drop into contemporary art galleries and mingle with locals as you soak in the laid-back atmosphere. Don’t forget to stop by the famous Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs), a wooden bridge steeped in romanticism, to learn some of the local legends associated with this picturesque structure. Later, your private transport will escort you back to the airport as you take your international flight home. ¡Buen viaje!
