Adventure through Peru’s Andean highlights, from the breathtaking Sacred Valley to our Wonder of the World, Machu Picchu, and back to the Naval of the World, Cusco.
Day 1
Arrival to Lima. We’ll escort you to your conveniently located airport accommodation.
Day 2
Fly to Cusco, cycle offroad from Taray to Huayllabamba along the Vilcanota River, then head to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.
Day 3
Ride Peruvian Paso horses from Maras to Moray, stopping for a picnic lunch beneath the snow-capped peaks.
Day 4
Ascend a rock face in the Sacred Valley and enjoy lunch 400m up above, before zip-lining down six wires to the floor below.
Day 5
Hike the shorter version of the Inca Trail pausing at beautiful cascades of water and ruins, arriving on foot to Machu Picchu.
Day 6
Explore Machu Picchu, absorbing its history and Inca architecture. Take a limited-entry hike for panoramic views before returning to Cusco by train.
Day 7
Explore the heart of the Incan Empire, Cusco, from its ancient temples and vibrant markets to the Sacsayhuaman fortress above the city.
Day 8
Immerse yourself in a hands-on culinary experience, learning about local ingredients and cooking techniques.
Day 9
Fly to Lima and explore the artistic Barranco district, before returning to the airport for your international flight home.
Day 1
When you arrive in Lima we’ll be waiting to accompany you to your accommodation, conveniently located right there at the airport.
Day 2
Fly this morning to Cusco and head in your private transport to Pisac in the Sacred Valley. From the nearby town of Taray you’ll cycle offroad further into the Valley on a scenic route parallel to the Vilcanota River. Your transport will be waiting for you in Huayllabamba, to head to your beautiful hotel for the evening.
Day 3
Today you head to a ranch populated by Creole and the famed Peruvian Paso horses. You’ll ride between the quaint village of Maras with its nearby salt ponds, over to the agricultural terraces of Moray. On the way you will stop for a picnic lunch under the snow-capped peaks of the surrounding valley.
Day 4
Wake refreshed and ready for adventure. After a short drive through the scenic Sacred Valley, you’ll receive a safety briefing by expert adventure guides, harness up, and ascend the vertical rock face, taking in the breathtaking views of the valley around you. Reaching the transparent pods of Skylodge Adventure Suites, you’ll stop for a one-of-a-kind lunch 400m above the valley floor. Following this, the adventure continues, taking an exhilarating zip-lining adventure as you soar down six wires. Your driver will then return you to the hotel for a relaxing evening.
Day 5
Time to lace up your hiking boots and prepare for the fabled Inca Trail. After a short train ride, you’ll begin your trek into the mountains, taking a winding incline along the Urubamba Valley. Rest your feet at a beautiful waterfall before exploring the spectacular site of Wiñay Wayna, enjoying a boxed lunch before continuing your hike. An hour later, climb to the Sun Gate to gain your first views of Peru’s World Wonder: Machu Picchu.
Day 6
Machu Picchu! Rise early and return to the sacred site with your knowledgeable guide, ready to brief you about the history and significance of the ancient ruins. Absorb the magical energy as you gain insights into the Inca civilization and architectural marvels as you explore them. For a spot of adventure, take one of the limited-entry hikes to reach the higher vantage points for breathtaking panoramic views of the citadel. Finally, relax on the train in your return to Cusco.
Day 7
Cusco, the heart of the Incan Empire and historical capital of Peru. Spend the morning wandering quaint cobblestone streets, taking in the astonishing blend of history and culture, from the ancient temple of Q’orikancha and the Cathedral in the main plaza with its Cusquenian take on the Last Supper painting, to the colorful San Pedro central market and the bohemian arts of San Blas. In the afternoon venture to the hills above to explore the magnificent fortress of Sacsayhuaman and nearby ruins, learning their architectural and strategical significance with your guide.
Day 8
This morning make your way to the kitchen of a renowned local restaurant, ready to participate in a memorable and educating experience of the local culture through its exquisite cuisine. You’ll learn about the diverse and vibrant ingredients and cooking techniques, as you cook up a traditional meal to enjoy at the end of the class. For the rest of the day take some time at leisure to explore the Imperial City on your own terms.
Day 9
After a relaxing start, you’ll take a late-morning flight back to the capital, Lima. In the afternoon you’ll explore the bohemian district of Barranco, characterized by its artistic vibe, colorful murals and charming ambience. Drop into contemporary art galleries and mingle with locals as you soak in the laid-back atmosphere. Don’t forget to stop by the famous Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs), a wooden bridge steeped in romanticism, to learn some of the local legends associated with this picturesque structure. Later, your private transport will escort you back to the airport as you take your international flight home. ¡Buen viaje!
